Well it at least fell away from the house...

I am not surprised this tree partially fell down as it is rotten and needed to be felled, just glad it fell away from the house.  The wind has been bloody wicked here and add in the rain it has been down right nasty at times.  Just glad it came down as rain and not snow.

So I guess part of tomorrow (weather permitting) will be tidying up the mess.  Can't believe there are leaves clinging on for dear life on some of the trees?  How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

The wind is blowing here too, Gill. Was the tree a Manitoba maple? They are very brittle trees, that's why I'm asking.

Have you blown away yet today?? The wind is so wicked up here. The house is surrounded by trees and some have seen better days. I always worry when it's windy like this. It's bad for the corn too, snapping it off making it almost impossible to combine. So far (knock on wood) ours is standing.

It was really windy earlier in the day, however, seems to be getting quieter now. No trees down that I know off. The forecast last night indicated your winds would be stronger than what we would experience.
Lots of leaves are still on the trees here too. They won't let go even in this weather.

My boyfriend drove straight into a fallen tree this morning and it cracked his windscreen. The weather is crazy :(

OH dear Lord. Thank God your ok. I had a tree removed about 5 years ago because I knew it was dieing. The tree people told me I was lucky because much longer and it would have made a lovely skylight in the two front bedrooms.

No damage around my house though we did see trees down on the road. We want to take a walk through the woods to see if any trees are down that we can take for firewood, but hunting started this weekend so we're waiting until a weekday for safety sake.
